Additionally, paid time off and disability benefits will soon come into question as employees may become diagnosed with COVID-19, face quarantine situations, or take leave to care for another person. Our compliance team is also closely reviewing the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) – enacted legislation to provide economic assistance, COVID-19 testing, and emergency paid leave benefits. We are working on guidance for employers with regard to coordination of employer-sponsored benefits and paid time off plans. McInnes Group will be hosting a webinar on the FFCRA in the near future.
